It has been such a wonderful day out 45 degrees and sunny. Days like today make me happy to be alive. Very calming for the soul and easy on the heart. Have a wonderfully sunny day and don't forget to appreciate the wonderful world around you.

Love is such a wonderful thing. This week it has really become evident to me how healing love can be. It's such a gift we have been given to share and it's so easy to show love to others. This is my soul nurturing today. To show love freely and without holding back. I am blessed, we are blessed. Happiness is a gift that we are given to share through love. Share happiness today. Love someone.

A Knowing Smile

I saw a wild violet…

growing by the road;
she couldn’t raise her face to me…
because of her heavy load.

Her leaves were limp and wilting:
she felt she had no worth.
Her roots to Life were stunted…
by the dryness of the earth.

In some strange way, the violet’s plight…
touched a chord in me, so deep.
I shed compassionate tears on her
and she awoke from sleep.

What joy for me to see her now…
opening wide her violet eye;
and nodding with ‘a knowing smile’ –
each time I pass her by.

Decorate Your Soul

The drive I had into work this morning was nothing short of breathtakingly beautiful. All of the schools were out and there were not many cars on the road making it easy to slip into serenity with the icy painting surrounding me. The road was white with salt, snow and ice and the ground was speckled with snow and places where the green grass was peaking out. The sun was rising, turning the hillsides pink and purple with light. When I woke this morning, I could have been upset I had to work on such a cold day but instead I realized I needed to embrace the beauty the day would provide. Like the quote says “Don’t wait for someone to bring you flowers. Plant your own garden and decorate your own soul.” I think it is so important that we nurture our souls everyday giving them the TLC they need and deserve to become whole. My simple yet wholesome exercise for my soul this morning was to appreciate the beauty within the icy cold day around me. Decorate your soul. 

Beautiful Love

Well, it has officially been a LONG time since I have posted anything on this lovely blog of mine. A lot has happened since the last post of mine. Funny how the time flies when you're having fun or not paying attention.. one or both of the two. As I re-read my last post I reminisced on the events in my life around the time it was written. It was, almost exactly, one month before said boyfriend proposed to me... I never dreamt at that moment that this man would think enough of me to make me his one and only forever. I would only be so lucky in my dreams to have a guy like him marry a girl like me. Well lucky for me my dreams became reality and he made me the happiest girl in the world. Sounds so cliche but is so true. Like in the picture below, we may not be perfect all of the time but we are the perfect storm of love, life and happiness for each other. We are passionate, loving, kind and faithful to each other at all times. With these things guiding our relationship together we achieve happiness. So, my message today, be thankful for what you have because others have it worse and we are blessed by waking up every day.

  

Thank God for the Rain... At Least it's not Snow

Today I realized that we are about to dive head first into winter... and I'm not excited. As I sit in my cubicle at work I gaze outside upon the dreary day beyond the glass of my window and think to myself I am so glad I am inside and not out in that nasty weather. I also think.. man I am so thankful that the precipitation coming from the sky is rain, not snow. With this said I cannot wait for my trip down to Nashville this weekend with my boyfran to hit the bars and see the Christmas display at Opryland Hotel. I guess a little fake snow will be alright. Anyways, be thankful for what you have and know that you are blessed. 

Love, Life, and the Pursuit of Happiness

What is a girl to do in a world full of readily available adventure? For a while there I tried hard to find "the right guy for me." Little did I know this would be a nearly impossible task as well as it would prove to be something I am not ready to do. In my short life I have found that there are thing that I do that make me happy and that these things are things I should do as often as possible.Some of these things include traveling, doing service work, hot baths with hot tea and a good book, writing, running, water skiing, picking fresh flowers, gardening... The list goes on and on. These things are things I love to do, every time i do them I find myself smiling. Now, why would one want to jeopardize ones happiness for a man? For someone who wants all of you,which is not bad, just not what I need right now. Youre right, no one would do that. So, for now, until one comes and sweeps me off my feet and makes my happiness their business, I will continue traveling, writing and taking hot baths all by myself.
