Follow My Footprints

Just follow my footprints and you'll find me.
It may take a little searching.
You may have to ask for help along the way.
But you are my strength and my sweetness.
I love you.

I set off on a snow covered path. Alone.
There is only one set of footprints, so you must be able to find me.
Quirks led me into the woods off the beaten path.
The tracks are harder to see now and I'm feeling free
And you're on your way to find me.

You call out, I can't hear you.
So you call me.
I answer and I feel your smile.
Patience, I say, Just follow my footprints and you'll find me.
I love you.

I hear your voice calling my name.
In your voice I hear you thinking.
"Oh, you're doing it again,"
But you love it and you love me.
I stop walking so you can catch me.

I want to keep going,
And normally would.
But I'm finished being alone so I stop.
I turn to follow my footprints out to meet you.
But they are hard to see.

I know you are coming and I know you'll find me.
I know you won't give up because you love me.
You won't leave me; I'm deep in
And you'll follow my footprints
Until you find me.

You say my name. You found me.
I turn and you smile; you catch me.
We emerge from the woods together, hand in hand.
We are smiling, laughing, in love.
I love you. You save me.
